Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer (1964)

Pete Rating: 8.6
A classic Christmas special that never gets old no matter how many times you watch it. The animation is always stunning and beautiful. I was kind of bothered by the part where Rudolph secretly left the hut in the Island of Misfit Toys, and didn’t close the door, when it was literally like -100 degrees out. But still enjoyable and a great watch around Christmas time.

Dad Rating: 7.8
Unlike Santa Claus is Coming to Town, this Rankin/Bass classic deserves the label. Rudolph still holds up really well. Filled with characters you want to root for. Good plot. Has some bullying, some love story action, a scary monster, some memorable tunes, some humor, and some excellent topics to debate at the dinner table. For example, why is Dolly for Sue on the Island of Misfit Toys? Overall, definitely an all-time top 10 Christmas movie.
